Days 235-236 Leaving Perth

We had managed to find a buyer for both the tent and our camping gear, so we drove back to Perth and delivered those before going to our hotel.

Our plan was to cook dinner in the hotel using our left over food, however, unlike the previous time we had stayed there wasn't a kitchenette in our room. Using a couple of Tupperware boxes and the microwave we succeeded in cooking most of the food.

The next day was just filling in time before our flight in the evening. We wandered through the Perth river gardens and did some dog spotting. After lunch we visited the local library to print off a few final things.

We returned our car in the mid afternoon and walked back towards the hotel. As they wouldn't be serving dinner for another couple of hours, we ended up in Mcdonalds with a cup of tea.

The dinner at the hotel was really lovely, I (Joanna) had a kangaroo loin which was really delicious and put the kangaroo skewers from earlier in the week to shame.

After dinner the hotel shuttle took us to the airport.

We did have a bit of drama going through security. My bag was pulled aside and I was informed that there was a pair of scissors inside. Replying with "Have I?!" probably wasn't the best response....

After checking through my bag the scissors were located, and suddenly it all made sense.

Several weeks earlier we had misplaced our good pair of nail scissors, and had assumed that they were lost. Well the good news is that we now know where they were (in the bottom of my medicine bag for Tanzania), the bad news is that they had to be disposed of by security.

Other than that we were all ready to leave Australia and head to Tanzania!
