Because of the weather we had booked a cabin at a campsite in Margaret River. Thank goodness we had, as it rained for much of the time that we were there.
We spent the first morning doing washing and attempting to dry the tent, as well as getting to know our neighbours.

After lunch we decided that we should go and explore the surrounding area, as we had heard a lot of good things about it. Unfortunately we only managed a couple of short walks in the rare gaps in the rain. We did however manage to get a very good video of a kangaroo.

The next day we were picked up for our wine tour. Because the winter holidays had just finished, we were the only two people in our group.
We know very little about wine and so were quite interested in learning more. By the end of the day we still didn't really know anything about wine, but had found some that we liked more than we expected.

The third winery that we went to had an award winning wine valued at $155 per bottle. Officially the most expensive wine that we have ever drunk, but I'm sorry to say that we couldn't really taste what was so special about it....
They did do a most excellent lunch though, that was included in our tour.

In the afternoon we took a short break from the wine, and went to a local chocolate shop and a cheese shop. We made the most of the free samples and ended up buying a small amount of cheese.
Our fourth winery was also well known for its nougat, which came in lots of different flavours.
Unfortunately because most of the wineries are boutique, family owned, it is difficult to purchase the wine outside of Western Australia.
We finished up the day with a taster sample of ale and ciders.

Our driver dropped us off in town as we felt like walking the short distance back to the campsite.
Next Time, back to perth and getting ready to leave Australia.
