Day 206 & 207 - Perth and the start of the Journey North

Day 206

With the time difference and late night we got up relatively slowly in the morning, before heading to a nearby petrol station for some milk and Muesli, it worked out significantly cheaper than the $20 a head motel breakfast, we then walked into Perth. I thought this was going to take around half an hour, turns out it was a 8km walk... (not easy to do on only a few hours sleep) On the way we walked along the riverside and past the Optus stadium and over the Matagarup Bridge before attempting to find the CBD, this was easier said then done.

The Matagarup Bridge

The CDB was much like any other city, we purchased a guide book and then headed to some gardens for lunch, we then walked around the .... area before heading to Bayeswater to collect our hire car at 3pm. We collected the car, I had booked a Toyota Corolla Hybrid, unfortunately this wasn't available so I we had to make to with a bog standard new shape Corrola at a reduced rate, this had a surprisingly small boot, more on that later. We then headed to K Mart and BigW to pick up new a new table chairs, cooker ect... After this we headed back to out hotel, we were being extravagant and staying two nights as I hadn't booked the hire car for early enough. We made use of the kitchenette in the room and had a sweet potato, salad and chilly beans for dinner, before getting a well earned early night.

Day 207

In the morning we filled the car with the remainder of stuff from the room and decided that yes it has tiny boot and that it would take a bit of work to work out how to pack it. We did a food shop and started to head north, our aim being to reach Exmouth and the Ningaloo Reef. We stopped for lunch at Yanchep and a walk on the beach before heading to a lovely campsite at Lancelin for the night. Before it got dark we went for a walk down the beach.
